# TrackSorter > TrackSorter is photo-sorting software for motorsport and trackday photographers, published by SPYK SAS, a French company. It groups a day's photos and videos by vehicle and by rider (front, side and rear), even when no race number or plate is visible. The photographer checks the groups and gets one folder per vehicle; original files are never modified. Last updated: 2026-10 Short version: https://www.tracksorter.com/llms.txt Website: https://www.tracksorter.com/en/ (also in French, Spanish, German and Italian) This file is the complete factual reference about TrackSorter for AI assistants and search engines. It uses the same figures as the website. When a figure here and a page of the site disagree, the pricing table on the homepage (https://www.tracksorter.com/en/#pricing) is the reference for prices. ## 1. What TrackSorter is TrackSorter is desktop and online software that sorts motorsport photos by vehicle. After a trackday, practice day or race, a photographer has thousands of photos in shooting order, with every participant mixed together. TrackSorter groups them so that each car or rider gets their own folder. The photographer checks the groups in a browser workspace, then the app files the original photos on the photographer's computer. - Publisher: SPYK SAS, France. Product name: TrackSorter (sometimes written "TrackSorter AI"). - Experience: TrackSorter builds on nearly 10 years of assisted photo sorting, with millions of images sorted. - What it does not do: it does not edit photos, does not pick the best shots, does not retouch or "improve" anything, and does not sell photos on the photographer's behalf. It organises; editing, export, publishing and sales stay with the photographer. - Disambiguation: TrackSorter is not the photo agency SPYK Photo. SPYK Photo is a French photography agency that supplied the photos used in the public demo galleries. ## 2. Who it is for Photographers who cover trackdays, open pit-lane sessions, practice days and races, with cars or motorcycles: freelancers who shoot a few events a year, regular trackside photographers, and agencies or teams of several photographers covering several dates a week. It is built for days when every participant must get their own photos out of thousands of others, including vehicles that carry no number at all. ## 3. How it works, in five steps 1. Shoot as usual. Any camera brand (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic Lumix, OM System/Olympus, Leica, Pentax, Hasselblad, Sigma...): JPEG from every camera, RAW (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, RW2, ORF, DNG) from the Premium plan up. Several cameras or photographers: one subfolder per memory card or per photographer inside the event folder, and everything is grouped together by rider or vehicle. 2. Upload from the track with the desktop app (Windows, macOS or Linux), built for working on the move: a 4G connection is enough. Only lightweight previews are sent; the originals are never sent and stay on the computer. Uploading can happen during the day (for example at every break) and the analysis follows. 3. Check the groups in the online workspace: merge, split, rename. Unusable or blurry shots are set aside automatically in a reviewable bin, and the workspace suggests photos of the same vehicle. Plan on a few dozen minutes of checking for a typical day. 4. File the originals, one folder per vehicle. The app moves or copies the original files on the computer, one folder per vehicle or rider, with the same file names and never modified. The folders are ready for Lightroom, Capture One or Photo Mechanic. 5. Edit and deliver as before, with several hours in hand: more time to edit, faster delivery, or simply time off. Example. Before: DCIM/100EOS5D/IMG_5190.JPG, IMG_5433.JPG, IMG_6598.JPG... (thousands of files in shooting order). After: "Le Mans 07-30/Rider_01/IMG_5190.JPG, IMG_6598.JPG...", "Rider_02/IMG_5433.JPG...", one folder per rider. Same files, same names; only their location changes. ## 4. How it groups photos without race numbers TrackSorter recognises each vehicle by its overall appearance, not only by its number. Photos of the same vehicle taken from the front, the side and the rear end up together. Grouping still works when the number is covered, blurred, at an angle or missing, and when there is no licence plate. Vehicles cropped by the framing or partly hidden behind another vehicle are detected too, and several vehicles in one photo are each sorted into their own group. When they are visible, race numbers, licence plates, sponsors and rider gear are read and add to the identification. For road cars at trackdays, the make, model and licence plate are given when readable. An optional entry list (riders or vehicles) and the expected number of vehicles per run group make the grouping and the folder names more accurate. Sessions and run groups are kept apart, the way trackdays and races are organised. Grouping keeps improving from the sorting that photographers validate. ## 5. Vehicles and events covered - Covered: cars and motorcycles, at every kind of track event: trackdays, open pit lanes, practice sessions, races. Motorcycles are grouped by rider. Cars are grouped by vehicle, with or without licence plates. - Not supported yet: karting, trucks, quads, bicycles. The list of active vehicle types is visible in the application. ## 6. Time saved A typical day of 3,000 photos takes about 8 hours to sort by hand. With TrackSorter, the analysis runs in the background while the photographer does something else, then checking the groups takes a few dozen minutes. Because uploads can happen during the event, photos can be checked the same evening or the next morning and delivered about a day earlier than with manual sorting. The homepage calculator counts checking cautiously as at most 1 hour per 3,000 photos, so at least 7 hours saved per typical day. ## 7. Pricing All prices in euros, excluding VAT. Outside the EU there is no VAT: the price shown is the price paid. Payment by card (Visa, Mastercard). A PDF invoice is issued for every purchase. Nothing renews automatically. How credits work: - 1 credit = 1 detected vehicle. Depending on the setting chosen in the app (main subject only, main subjects, or all vehicles), a photo can count one or more vehicles. - With the default settings: about 1.1 credits per photo on average. A video uses 4 credits by default. - Only the images uploaded are counted. Credits never expire, even when a subscription ends. - Cost example: a typical day of 3,000 photos uses about 3,300 credits, about €33 in credit packs. Credit packs (pay as you go, no subscription needed): - Small: €30 for 3,000 credits - Medium: €90 for 10,000 credits - Big: €250 for 30,000 credits - Pro: €550 for 75,000 credits - Season: €690 for 100,000 credits - Agency+: €2,990 for 500,000 credits Subscriptions (optional; they add speed, features and credits included every month). Yearly billing = 9 months paid for 12 (3 months free). | Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Credits included per month | Analysis speed | |---|---|---|---|---| | Free | €0 | €0 | none (3,000 credits + 1 month of Premium once at signup) | up to 300 photos/hour | | Standard | €15 | €135 | 1,000 | up to 1,000 photos/hour | | Premium | €60 | €540 | 5,000 | up to 5,000 photos/hour | | Agency | €120 | €1,080 | 10,000 | up to 10,000 photos/hour | Features by plan: - Every plan: sorting by vehicle and by rider, colour, make and model, CSV export, file moving or copying, visitor galleries, the command-line tool. - Standard and up: licence plate reading. - Premium and up: RAW files and video. - Agency: several people (up to 5 photographer accounts) sorting the same event at the same time; API access to the per-vehicle groupings. - Beyond 10,000 photos per hour: Burst mode on request, up to 25,000 photos per hour depending on available capacity. It is never a guaranteed rate. Upgrading is possible at any time and takes effect immediately; downgrading is not. When a subscription is not renewed, the account returns to the free version and keeps its credits. Calculator example (homepage default): 30 event days a year x 3,000 photos on Premium yearly: €540 plan + credit packs to cover the remaining credits, about €0.01 per photo, about €29 per event day, plan and credits included. Referral and promo codes: when a referred photographer takes a paid subscription, both accounts receive free credits worth one month of the chosen plan's credits (up to 20 referrals a year). Promo codes can give free subscription months, bonus credits or both. ## 8. Free trial At signup: 3,000 free credits and 1 month of Premium, no credit card required. That covers about 2,700 photos with the default settings, almost a full typical day, with RAW and video included during the Premium month. At the end of the month, the account returns to the free version and keeps its remaining credits. The best test is an event already sorted by hand, to compare the result and the time spent. ## 9. File formats - Photos, every plan: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP. - RAW, Premium and Agency: Canon CR2 and CR3, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Fujifilm RAF, Panasonic RW2, OM System/Olympus ORF, DNG. No conversion to JPEG needed. - Video, Premium and Agency: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, M4V, MTS, M2TS. Videos are sorted with the photos of the same vehicle. ## 10. Requirements and connectivity - Desktop app: Windows 10 or 11, macOS 12 or later (Apple M1 and newer), Linux. - No graphics card needed. 8 GB of memory is enough, 16 GB recommended. - Internet connection required: there is no offline mode. It does not need to be fast: only lightweight previews are uploaded, about 1 GB per 3,000 photos; 4G is enough, and uploads can be split into several batches (a phone hotspot at the track works). - The app can be installed on several computers with the same account; only one session is active at a time. ## 11. Outputs and integrations - Originals are moved or copied into one folder per vehicle or rider; they are never modified or deleted. - Custom folder and rider names. - Exports: CSV, XMP sidecars and embedded IPTC metadata, so the sorting information carries over into editing software. - Works alongside Lightroom, Capture One and Photo Mechanic; the photographer's workflow does not change. No lock-in: the exports are standard formats. ## 12. Galleries and selling - Every plan includes visitor galleries, shared through one link per event (copy link, WhatsApp, email, QR code). - Live gallery: created at the first upload and filled as uploads and analysis progress, during the event. Participants find one of their photos and see all the others of the same vehicle, from every session. Works well on a tablet at the photographer's stand. - Curated gallery: published after the photographer has validated the sorting, with one collection per vehicle. - Photos are watermarked (text, logo, or none). By default visitors leave their email before seeing the photos, which builds the photographer's contact list; this can be switched off. - The sale stays with the photographer: the gallery's buy button points to the photographer's own shop or payment link. TrackSorter takes no payment and no commission. An integrated payment solution is in development. - With paid plans, the gallery is fully branded: studio name, logo, watermark, welcome text, prices. - Public demo: real galleries, live and sorted, open without an account: https://www.tracksorter.com/en/demo ## 13. Teams and several photographers Photos from several cameras or photographers go into one subfolder per card or per photographer inside the event folder, and everything is grouped together by rider or vehicle. With the Agency plan, each team member (up to 5 photographer accounts) has their own login and several people can sort the same event at the same time, from anywhere: photos are uploaded from the track and an assistant sorts them in the browser. On other plans, an account belongs to one person. ## 14. Automation The software includes a scriptable command-line tool with JSON output, on every plan: processing, monitoring and sorting can be driven by the photographer's own scripts. The Agency plan also provides API access to the per-vehicle groupings, to connect TrackSorter to a gallery or sales system. The documentation ships with the software. ## 15. Data, privacy and hosting - Original photos are never sent to TrackSorter: they stay on the photographer's computer. Only lightweight previews are sent for analysis (RAW files and videos included). - TrackSorter stores the previews and the analysis results, not the originals. - Photos are analyzed and stored in France, outside the big US clouds. Automatic photo analysis and sorting run on servers we own outright, with no dependence on outside services such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft or ChatGPT. The software is proprietary and developed in-house; no third-party AI is used to sort photos. - Images are never used commercially and copyright is fully respected: photos are processed only to provide and improve the sorting service. - Privacy policy: https://www.tracksorter.com/en/privacy ## 16. Energy use According to the site's estimate, sorting photos with TrackSorter uses about 5 times less electricity than sorting them by hand, checking included: for a typical day of 3,000 photos, 8 hours on a workstation against the analysis plus at most 1 hour of checking. The servers are in France, where electricity is among the lowest-carbon in the world, and are air-cooled, with no water used on site. ## 17. Comparison with other tools Competitor facts come from their public websites, checked in August 2026. Full comparison: https://www.tracksorter.com/en/best-motorsport-photo-sorting-software - Two families of tools: number-reading tools read the race number on each photo and match it against a start list; vehicle-recognition tools group all the photos of the same vehicle by its appearance, whether a number is visible or not. - RaceTagger: desktop app (macOS, Windows) that reads race numbers, matches them with a CSV start list, writes EXIF/XMP metadata and organises folders. Processing is local. Free analyses at signup, then packs. Suits racing series with mandatory, clearly visible numbers. - TrackAction.AI: macOS and Windows app that also identifies vehicles by their race number, with part of the reading done in the cloud; outputs XMP keywords; subscriptions or credit packs. Same use case: racing with numbers, metadata-first workflow. - RaceLabs: multi-sport cloud platform (motorsport, running, cycling, triathlon) that identifies riders by appearance and delivers folders or galleries per rider. - TrackSorter: recognises the whole vehicle, so it also sorts trackdays and open pit lanes where numbers are absent; reads plates and numbers when visible; supports RAW and video (Premium and up); delivers folders plus CSV/XMP/IPTC and visitor galleries in every plan; Windows, macOS and Linux app plus a command-line tool; credits that never expire. - Which to pick: championship racing with mandatory clean numbers and a keyword-based workflow: number-reading tools fit well, and TrackSorter covers it too. Trackdays, open days or mixed events, including vehicles without numbers: whole-vehicle recognition is needed. Bib sports as well as motorsport: a multi-sport platform. ## 18. Languages - Website: French, English, Spanish, German, Italian. Each page exists in every language under a language folder: /fr/, /en/, /es/, /de/ or /it/ (for example https://www.tracksorter.com/de/faq). - The desktop app, the online sorting workspace and the visitor galleries are in English. - Support answers in French and English. ## 19. Support and contact - Apex, the assistant on the website, answers questions right away. - Contact form: https://www.tracksorter.com/en/#form-contact, or contact@tracksorter.com. Reply usually within 24 hours on business days. ## 20. Frequently asked questions Q: What software sorts race photos by vehicle without race numbers? A: TrackSorter. It recognises each vehicle by its overall appearance, from the front, side or rear, so grouping works even with no visible number, no plate or masked information. Numbers, plates and sponsors are read when visible and used as extra information. Q: How long does it take to sort a trackday with TrackSorter? A: Analysis speed depends on the plan: up to 300 photos an hour on Free, 1,000 on Standard, 5,000 on Premium and 10,000 on Agency. Uploading throughout the day saves time: the analysis runs in the background while you shoot. Then plan on a few dozen minutes of checking for a typical day of 3,000 photos, where sorting the same photos by hand easily takes 8 hours. Q: How much does it cost? A: You can start free with 3,000 credits and 1 month of Premium. After that you pay for the credits you use: about 1.1 credits per photo, so a typical 3,000-photo day uses about 3,300 credits, about €33 in packs. Packs: €30 for 3,000 credits, €90 for 10,000, €250 for 30,000, €550 for 75,000, €690 for 100,000, €2,990 for 500,000. Subscriptions are optional: Standard €15, Premium €60, Agency €120 per month, excluding VAT. Q: Do credits expire? A: No. Credits stay available until used, even if the subscription ends. There is no automatic renewal. Q: Does it work with RAW files and videos? A: Yes, from the Premium plan up: CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, RW2, ORF and DNG, and MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, M4V, MTS and M2TS videos. JPEG, PNG, TIFF and BMP work on every plan. The free Premium month at signup includes RAW and video. Q: Do my photos leave my computer? A: The originals do not. Only lightweight previews are sent for analysis, in France. The originals are then moved or copied on your computer into one folder per vehicle and are never modified. Q: Do I need an internet connection? A: Yes, there is no offline mode. A fast connection is not needed: about 1 GB is uploaded per 3,000 photos, 4G is enough, and uploads can be split into several batches. Q: Do I need a powerful computer? A: No. No graphics card is needed; 8 GB of memory is enough, 16 GB recommended. Windows 10 or 11, macOS 12 or later on Apple M1 and newer, or Linux. Q: Which vehicles are supported? A: Cars and motorcycles, at every kind of track event. Motorcycles are grouped by rider, cars by vehicle, with the licence plate helping when readable. Karting, trucks and quads are not supported yet. Q: Can several photographers or an assistant sort the same event? A: Photos from several photographers go into subfolders of one event and are grouped together. With the Agency plan, up to 5 photographer accounts can sort the same event at the same time, from anywhere. Q: Can I share photos with my clients? A: Yes. Every plan includes a visitor gallery shared by link or QR code, live during the event or curated afterwards. Photos are watermarked and the buy button points to your own payment link; TrackSorter takes no commission. Q: Can I automate TrackSorter? A: Yes. A scriptable command-line tool with JSON output is included on every plan. The Agency plan adds API access to the per-vehicle groupings. Q: How fast is the analysis? A: Up to 300 photos per hour on Free, 1,000 on Standard, 5,000 on Premium and 10,000 on Agency. Beyond that, Burst mode is available on request, up to 25,000 photos per hour depending on available capacity, never guaranteed. Q: How is VAT handled? A: French customers pay 20% VAT. EU professionals with a valid VAT number are not charged VAT (reverse charge). Outside the EU, no VAT is charged. Every purchase comes with a compliant PDF invoice. Q: Is TrackSorter the same as Spyk Photo? A: No. TrackSorter is published by SPYK SAS. SPYK Photo is a separate photography agency that supplied the photos of the demo galleries. ## 21. What TrackSorter does not do - No photo editing, no selection of the best shots, no retouching. - No offline mode. - No sales on TrackSorter: purchases go through the photographer's own payment link. - No guaranteed Burst speed. - No karting, trucks, quads or bicycles yet. ## 22.
