Case study
From the trackside stand to the online shop: TrackSorter at SPYK Photo
SPYK Photo only shoots cars and motorcycles on circuits, including the Circuit du Mans. TrackSorter sorts cars and motorcycles the same way in every discipline, from rallying to hill climbs. At SPYK Photo, sorting by vehicle drives the whole workflow: at the stand during the day, at the hotel in the evening, in Lightroom overnight, then on its sales website.
Developed in close collaboration with SPYK Photo, TrackSorter meets the needs of France’s largest track day photo agency: more than 200 track days a year.
The workflow, from the circuit to the gallery
-
Photos are dropped in regularly and appear on the stand’s touchscreens, analysed as they arrive. Participants find themselves by tapping “Find my photos with AI”.
-
From the hotel or from home, the photographer does the sorting on the TrackSorter website: one folder per car and, at small motorcycle events, one folder per motorcycle. At large motorcycle events, participants filter their own photos from the online shop.
-
The sorted photos are imported the same evening, and Lightroom builds the previews overnight.
-
On waking up, the catalogue is ready: editing starts right away, the way you usually work.
-
Every gallery is online: one folder per vehicle and, at large motorcycle events, a shop where each participant finds all their photos from a single one, across every session of the day.

The starting point
A track day means thousands of photos and dozens of vehicles. Every participant wants to see their photos quickly, ideally before leaving the circuit: that is when they buy.
Without sorting by vehicle, a participant whose photos are mixed in with everyone else’s cannot find themselves easily. After a while they give up, convinced they were barely photographed: the sale is lost.
During the day: the stand and its touchscreens
The photographer drops photos in regularly throughout the day. They appear on the stand’s touchscreens, and TrackSorter analyses them as they arrive, in real time.
The participant taps “Find my photos with AI” on one photo of their car or motorcycle, and the screen shows all their photos of the day, from the front, side or rear, even with no visible number.
The sales effect is immediate: the stand shows straight away how much work has been done, and anyone walking past finds themselves in seconds. The curious onlooker becomes a buyer.
SPYK Photo integrated TrackSorter into the display software of its existing touchscreens using the TrackSorter CLI: the command-line version of the software, which runs without windows or clicks and can therefore be driven by another program.
In the evening: sorting the photos from the hotel
In the evening, from home or the hotel, the photographer does the sorting on the TrackSorter website: they confirm the suggested groups, and every car gets its own folder.
For motorcycles, it depends on the size of the event. At small events, the photographer also creates one folder per motorcycle. At large ones, SPYK Photo chooses not to sort: participants filter their own photos directly from the online shop before adding them to the cart.
Once sorting is done, the photos are imported into Lightroom the same evening. Previews are generated overnight: by morning the catalogue is ready and editing can begin.
In the morning: editing in Lightroom
Editing stays the photographer’s own, with their usual presets and tools. TrackSorter does not touch the photos: it organises them, and the originals are never modified.
Going online: the next available day
Every gallery goes online on the photographer’s next available day: after three days of shooting in a row, they are delivered on the fourth day; after two days, on the third.
This speed sells: participants buy while they are still caught up in the action, not a week later.
Online: one folder per car, a search for motorcycles
Motorcycles
At large motorcycle events, the participant starts from a single one of their photos and taps “Find my photos with AI”: the website shows all their photos, across every session they rode that day, and all that is left is to add them to the cart. This is the integration TrackSorter offers sales websites with the Agency plan.
Cars
On the SPYK Photo website, every car has its own folder: customers open theirs and see all their photos.
What SPYK Photo gains
200 days of sorting saved
More than 200 dates photographed a year means as many days of manual sorting gone: what remains is confirming the groups, and nothing at all at large motorcycle events.
Passers-by become buyers
At the stand, automatic sorting shows the work done straight away, and everyone finds themselves in seconds.
Sales while the excitement lasts
Galleries are online from the next available day: participants buy while still riding the high of their day.
Reproducing this workflow
Two ways to get the same result, depending on how you work.
No development: the live gallery
The software on your computer, the live gallery open on a tablet at the stand or shared by QR code, and your own payment link. See the three sales scenarios.
With your own website: the CLI and the integration
Like SPYK Photo: the CLI, the command-line version of the software, connects TrackSorter to your screens and tools, and the Agency plan adds “Find my photos with AI” to the galleries of your sales website. Let’s talk about your website.
